Not as well known as some other Dallas area taquerias, El Taco Loco is a true taco lovers paradise. Open only on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights from 5pm to 4am, these guys know how to do tacos right (see pic of yummy al pastor meat roasting on a pit for details). Attached to the Acapulcanea restaurant near I-30 and East Grand, you can spot this tacqueria by the line of people out front if its late at night or its glowing neon yellow and green sign. The taco choices are really simple: fajita, barbacoa, al pastor, chicharonnes, and lengua (that’s tongue for you non-Spanish speakers). And at a buck ‘fity a pop you can eat four or five at a time. That may sound like a lot of tacos at one sitting, but these tacos are weirdly light. Seriously, I’ve never eaten so many tacos and felt so good afterwards. In my humble opinion, the al pastor are the best choice, with the barbacoa close behind.
