ABOUT ME
The first time I rolled into town, I was lured here by blazing summers and blue sky. The east coast friends I left behind pronounced me insane. The 2nd time, I was following love and money. Two great reasons I'm still here. Dallas has been our home address for a long time, but it will never be home. Because we know a place by the food we eat, we know Dallas has long struggled to Be Somebody. What has been true for the city generally has been more true for eats south of the Trinity, that big, perpetually dust-dry or flooding ditch. While part of me is hesitant to make too much of a ruckus about how we denizens of southern Dallas are the coolest of the cool (because it sounds like I got something to prove, right?), I'm eager to boost great eateries because they deserve the business and you deserve to get outta those long-assed lines at the end of alla that traffic and come sit down for a delicious dish served by folks who're genuinely glad to see you. So think of me as a cheerleader for the team that plays on a field bounded by I35E South...Hwy 67 South...and all points headed west on I-20. So next time you make a wrong turn leaving American Air Lines Center or the West End and end up on a one-way street across the bridge headed into (gasp!) Oak Cliff, just keep coming. You'll get back home in one piece, sated and jubilant. We promise.
