Dallas has been my home for the better part of the last 7 years. Despite what one may think about the city, it continues to surprise me with its odd little corners of culture. The neighborhoods I listed are a bit misleading as I consider myself an explorer who will wander far afield in search of some really good grub or at the very least a good time. I have an adventurous palate- Afghani, Indian, Ethiopian, Japanese- you name the cuisine, I have probably tried it. Timid people need not take my recommendations.Almost as much as I like food, I like contemporary art and design. I routinely visit the art galleries here in Dallas and have made purchases from several. Although the Dallas art scene is more market driven (rather than artist driven) than some other cities there are still some really talented artists doing work here (Annette Lawrence, Lawrence Lee, Trent Hancock Doyle...to name a few). I will try to let you know what show's are worth checking out on this page.
Well that's it. Stay tuned for my posts.
